Website Evaluation

In this post,I want to introduce you to my ELT website evaluation which I have done for my Instructional technology and material design course.

This website helps kids from preschool to grade 8 develop skills in English Literacy.

Qualifications and credentials about the author of the website:There are no any information and credentials about the author of the website.I think it is a lack of information about the owner of the website. Because parents or teachers who want to visit this site may need to be concerned about the author.

Content of the website: Fun brain is the website which is online educational interactive content with hundreds of free games, books, videos for kids of all ages.I think with all this rich content, kids are both learning and having fun.

The target audience of the website: The target audience is kids from preschool to grade 8.I think that the age range is so large for kids that it helps them to find an activity that is appropriate for them, which positively affects their development.

Purpose of the website: Purpose of the website is to develop skills in English literacy.

There’s a wide variety of books children can read directly on the website, such as “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” These books can really help kids to develop their skills in English literacy.

Information about updated of the website: When I look at the website, I don't see any date of updating.I think this is one of the important deficiencies in the site because a parent or teacher who wants to follow this site can not be informed of new updates.

Accuracy of the information about website: I look into the site and I don't see any errors.the author has already stated that this site can be safely used for teachers or parents for their kids or students.

Broken links about the website: when I looked at the site I didn't see any broken links.

The quality of images of the website: when I look at the site I see very high quality ,live pictures and videos games.All of this content fits the target audience.

Applying this website to EFL teaching:Many games and videos on this site can be applied in the classroom by teachers ; however, these can be easily used by teachers at school with technological possibilities. It can be a bit difficult to take advantage of this site if you have inadequate facilities at school.
